    Lots of Diss and Dat!

This night was one better suited for just staying home and taking your pick from a handful of baseball on the television...The NFL releases the 2010-2011 schedule...5 NHL playoff games...4 NBA playoff games...and an anniversary that simply makes you wonder 'Why?'

We had this discussion among my younger coworkers today in Las Colinas. I made the comment that 11 years ago today the tragedy of Littleton, Colorado went down. What was more shocking to my staff was that fact that it happened in 1999. Many thought it was post 9-11. Not so. Heard from quite a few friends still upset at the actions of the two young men. Sad...

6 PM locally here in Dallas the NFL released it's 2010 NFL schedule. For the Cowboys they start in DC, play the Saints on Turkey Day, and finish out the run in Philly on January 2nd. A Bye on Week 4. Home visits by the Bears and Lions. A rematch with the Vikings on the road. I can't believe the Giants and Cowpokes meet 4 weeks apart in mid November. From where I sit, I foresee a bunch of 9-7 teams in the NFC East. Officially the season will commence on September 9th with the Saints and my Vikings. I look forward to it...

I also find it amazing that the Redskins and Cowboys will play both of their games on Prime Time. If, as has been reported, Terrell Owens is pursued to come reunite with Donovan, that will make for great theatre. I foresee alot of popcorn being brought and tossed...

What these eyes witnessed on Sunday by the Mavericks (and by Dirk) convinces me that if Caron Butler is ON, this current squad of talent can go far. Nowitzki likes to play like All-World when the opponent is the Spurs. Dirk needs to pretend he's playing San Antonio every night. Expect more physicality in Game 2 tomorrow night with a late start time...

I am ready to write a script for the Texas Rangers. Get a lead, lose a lead, blow a lead, lose the game. Tonight in Boston a four-run lead was blown on the 98th anniversary of Fenway Park's birth to baseball. A 6-2 game reduced to a 7-6 loss courtesy of a 31 year old rookie named McDonald. I've seen it way too many times.

I remind you that Franky Francisco was NOT in a save situation. Sadly, if you can get Ranger relievers to get a pitch count into the high 20's, bad things tend to happen. Such was the case tonight. This should mark the 4th blown lead in 2010. A current 2-5 road trip does not bode well for Ron Washington. The Rangers brass is saying, 'It's Time...' Time to what? Remove the Wash? The catcalls will get louder if the Rangers do not turn this losing streak around. It's like a bad rerun year after year after year...Yuck!

If there is a Game 5, I will be there alongside Run TMC. That will be fun!

Make it a great day! Happy playoff watching!

Over and out in Big D
