A Different Opening Night!
As the year 2010 winds down, a term that I have been using with more and more regularity is 'transitioning'. Once used to a particular routine that is regimented you now make some alterations only to discover a whole new field of play.
There's also a great saying, 'When the Student is ready...The Teacher shall appear!' How else to explain some of the great fortunes that lie in wait? This certainly wasn't the original plan yet something very interesting has begun to commence.
New opportunities to network and reach a particular audience keep presenting themselves in ways I am unable to fathom. If this were to become a country song, I'd call it 'A different kind of good'. There are a few people to thank in this regard.
Two weeks ago I was asked about being available for a photo shoot for a Dental Grand Opening in McKinney Texas Thursday night. I looked at the calendar and said, 'Hell Yeah!' I had never been to McKinney before and I welcomed a chance to leave Tarrant County for a day.
It also happened to be Opening Night for the Dallas Stars in downtown Dallas. Priorities being what they are I made a decision to let someone else go watch a game. There will be another game. There won't be another Grand Opening on the dental front.
I knew I was in for a treat when I reached Virginia Rd. and saw a HUGE Dragster in front of McKinney Dentists new office. Created by Dr. Berlin's brother the front of the dragster had color caricatures of the featured doctors. A nice touch I thought!
A crowd of over 250 people arrived early for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Dr. Berlin and friends. Many stuck around as they awaited some surprise visits from Nancy Lieberman, Mike Fisher, Derek Harper, and Randy White.
There was a nice spread of food being served, and a bartender on hand for the attendees. The new offices for McKinneyDentists.com is quite vast and ready to serve the needs of the local community. It was a pleasure to play photographer on behalf of a friend and observe the fans of the Mavericks and Cowboys stop by for a quick photo op and an autograph. That was fun.
My thanks to Dr. Berlin and Dr. Thompson for the hospitality and to Mike Fisher for once again allowing me to do my thing.
Best of luck to the group headed by Dr. Berlin and friends. Located on Virginia Dr. right off the I-75.
Stars won. Mike Modano got a standing O. He looked weird wearing #90. Dallas got the early lead and victory. 2010 they are now 3-0. In all of 2009 the Stars never won three straight...
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
