The Stopper-Feldy Way
Today's win in Tampa Bay was much needed, and another example as to why this Ranger team shows a high level of resiliency after dealing with a crushing blow or a lost lead.
Scott Feldman hands down has been the ace of the Texas Rangers in 2009. With an 11 strikeout performance (a 1st for a Ranger since 1999) Feldman improves his record to 13-4. 9-1 on the road with an ERA of 3.15! That to me is amazing. I hope he gets a chance at 20 wins. What a season, and what a gritty thrower...
Although we lose two of three in the Trop, Texas remains 1 game back in the Wild Card, and 5.5 back in the A.L. West. The law of averages dictate that the Angels are about to hit a tailspin and fall back some. This makes for a very interesting run for the Rangers and a fun meaningful run of baseball in Arlington in September. I will be watching with baited breath.
Off day tomorrow, then it's off to New York for three. Texas must take 2 and not let down in Minnesota. That city presented problems in 2004 when Texas visited there in late August.
Time for a walk!
Over and out in Big D
