Blowing Hot and Cold!
Happy Sunday from a much warmer North Texas.
As we determine who shall complete this bracket for the Final Four, and seeing that North Carolina is also playing today, I remember it was 27 years ago today that I saw one of the more thrilling NCAA Finals games. The Tar Heels and Georgetown. A game that went down to the wire, it had a Jim Marshall moment when Freddie Brown made a pass to the opposing team and that helped North Carolina pull off a huge upset of the Hoyas by a 63-62 count. It was Michael Jordan's last game in college. Little did we know what kind of career awaited His Airness.
Tiger Woods is back in the news down Florida way with the Jack Nicklaus invitational. How many Sunday's have we seen him do the unthinkable on the last five holes of a tournament to win outright? Something tells me I will watching some golf on NBC as this day progresses.
The Mavs with a noon tip-off at Cleveland with the King James. Are you aware that Tiger Woods and LeBron James share the same birthday albeit nine years apart? December 30th 1975, and 1984! Let's see, a 34-1 record for the Cavs in Ohio. Should get to 35-1 after this day is done. No disrespect to Maverick fans, but you are playing the best team in the NBA. Are you going to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge as well? I'll be surprised if this game is not a blowout! Jason Kidd will be back, yet without Josh Howard, no chance in hell!
Slowly but surely getting up to speed with all the techno bells and whistles that are availing themselves to me. As of 11 this morning, I joined the Twitter brigade. One of my first thoughts were: If I flip you the middle finger, would this be known as 'the Tweety Bird?' Hey, I'm just saying!
Dealing with a slight case of the crud this day. The weather has not been helpful the last 48 hours. Eat, sleep, and more sleep, I'll be good to go come Monday. Invites to go to a Mavs watching party and a going away party were cancelled due to being less than 100 percent.
Actually saw somw exhibition baseball with the Mariners and Royals on MLB Network. Its been ten years since enjoying the sweet sounds of Dave Niehaus, Rick Rizzs, Mike Blowers. It was also GREAT to see the greatest swing in all of baseball, Ken Griffey Jr. I cannot wait to see him play in Arlington. Griff will bring the fans out! Hard to believe that on July 15th Safeco Field will be ten years old! I know because I was working the night it opened. A 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres mere hours before a massive thunderstorm rocked Seattle. Earlier this week on the 26th was the nine year anniversary that Seattle saw the Kingdome implosion. I was on the air as it happened...
Eight more days until the sound of 'PLAY BALL!' I am ready, anxious, and waiting.
Time for a nap!
Over and out in Big D
Mr Will
