Rudolph To Get a Pass.
Happy Monday all.
Nice to see the weather actually warm up for a day or two before we get more winterlike...As I play catch up with a multitude of blogs from the past few weeks, I am beginning to see it. I am beginning to smell it. I am even beginning to expect and anticipate it. So much so that I am about to give Frankie Valli a call and give him a new band, the Winter Season. Think Cowboy fans might be singing a tune along these lines?
(Sing to December 1963)
'Oh what a month...Every year since 1996...This teams up to it's same old bag of tricks. December crash-What a month...Oh what a month. You know we can't even blame Romo's game. That kicker Folk puts the O line to shame. Lose in December-what a month.'
CHORUS:
'Oh I...get a little queasy when Wade...takes to the podium...and tries to pump the media up with sunshine...OH WHAT A MONTH!'
With regard to what happened yesterday in the Jones Mahal, I cannot bag on Tony Romo. Two games with 5 TD passes and NO interceptions. That one drive with the 14 out of 15 plays on the ground. THAT I question! Not trying to do a rollout on 4th and goal, THAT I would have tried. Having the wind taken out of your sails when DeMarcus Ware got carted off... THAT was a cruel blow.

San Diego and Norv Turner now 16-0 in December. Dallas under Wade 3-7. 2-8 if you want to overlook a 1 point excuse me win in Detroit in 2007. No finish, no sense of urgency, and now looking up to the Eagles and Packers in the seedings.
On a lighter note it was kind of cool to serve both Leonard Davis and Pat McQuistan post-game. Miles Austin was a visitor on Saturday with a bunch of New Joyzy-ites. There was also a Dallas Cowboy from years past who came by to offer some support-John Niland! A guy whom I have had many a run-in since 2004 whom I remember from the period of 1969-1975...
Next Saturday night will be an ugly night for the Cowboys in the land of 'Horton hears a WHO DAT?' Consider also a possible playoff preview next month if the Cowboys keep that 6 seed. This is also to assume that Dallas get a win in December. Sorry, I don't see it.
If this is going to be Wade Phillip's swan song as Cowboy coach, may I recommend a one night gig for him? Place Wade on the reindeer ride X-mas eve. Give Rudolph the night off, and make Jerry talk about marketing schemes with Blitzer and the other reindeer.
Let me also be very clear. These last two losses have not bee ugly ones. Two or three plays were the sole difference. The way San Diego ran out the clock Sunday was impressive. Special team by the Giants equally strong. Sadly, the lightning has struck twice in December. It's going to strike three more times as fans place their attention to the other 2 undefeateds. It's all in the way you finish in December leading into January.
Over and out in Big D
Mr. Will
