    How to Explain...

    Happy Birthday Stephen King!

This day will go down as one that will be memorable for a boatload of reasons. You could even say the events of this day could possibly rival a Stephen King novel. How else to explain how...

1.The underdog Dolphins come to Foxboro and end a 21 game winning streak.

2.The number 26 would be prevalent at Yankee Stadium.

3.The Bengals were so difficult for the Giants.

4.Minnesota could look so good with Gus Frerotte at the helm.

    5.Julius Jones has a 140 yard day.

6.USA sticks it to the Europeans at the Ryder Cup.

7.Ronnie Brown invokes the numbers and year of a certain Yankee coincidence.

8.Philadelphia puts a six spot on the Steelers in sacks when Monday past they had none.

9.The Cowboys get their first W in Green Bay.

    10. The Cards and Lions continue their winless ways at Washington and San Francisco.

It isn't December but the Cowboys look to be for real. Matters not whether T.O is open or not. Tony Romo looks off his receivers and finds the open guy. Great success with Patrick Crayton and pal Miles Austin. Felix Jones and Marion Barber complimented each other nicely from the left and right. A 27-16 victory places the Cowsheepherders at 3-0 with the Redskins in town next Sunday. The Cowboys have looked real impressive so far.

As the final Yankee game wound down I noticed a couple of weird cowinky dinks. The final score was 7-3. 1973 was the last time Yankee Stadium was shut down for renovations. The last homer hit by Bengi Molina wears the #26, as in the number of world championships the team accrued. I did a little deeper thinking and realized (This was after all the House That Ruth Built) if you separate the 2 and the 6 you have Babe Ruth's birthday (Feb 6th 1895). Further, if you add the numbers of the year he was born, you get the #23 as in the year the stadium opened. Note the following tie-in...

Earlier in the day Ronnie Brown had 4 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown. Last and only other time that happened? Paddy Driscoll in 1923! Oh yeah the numbers 4 and 1-THAT was the final score of the first game played there NY 4 Bos 1! And did anyone find it funny that on the last day of the old Yankee Stadium to be open the final of the Giants Bengals game was 26-23? As in number of titles and year opened? I noticed and now I am sharing. I also found it funny the final out was made at position #3 and Brian Roberts made the last out. Same initials as Babe Ruth. Too many coincidences from where I sit! Oh by the way Ronnie Brown wears #23!

Denver does another magic act despite the efforts of Reggie Bush. How about that Fred Taylor and those Jaguars? That was a nice piece of running by Sir Taylor...

LT still a question mark for the Chargers for the Monday Nighter. Look for Darren Sproles to get ample amounts of playing time tomorrow night.

The Rangers get swept by the Angels. John Lackey was in postseason form allowing only 2 hits in seven innings as Anaheim posted a second straight 7-3 victory. Taters for Sean Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira. Since Johnny Oates wore #26 you think he was watching from heaven?

Here's to Monday and to some better picks from me.

Over and out in Big D
