For Coach and Hoss.

Tomorrow will officially mark the first full day of autumn. Today was the start at roughly 9:57 am. This is the time of year that I get a little sentimental and think back on the first 2/3rds of the given year. Much that I had enjoyed, and much that still needs to get done. During the course of my travels to sporting events I have made some friends along the way. Yesterday was the final fireworks night for the Rangers. It would happen after a 4 hour slugfest with Baltimore.

I hadn't seen Coach B or Hoss Josh since the first week of July. The Coach is onto bigger and better things down Huntsville way. Josh will no doubt be pursuing football in some capacity or hooking up with the Hooters posse. It's that charm he possesses....Although a baseball game was in progress, one that Texas lost 11-9, there was some great repartee from the Coach and Hoss.

Speaking about college football, Josh asked, "Who's got the best team of Texans?' 'Oklahoma'. Wild laughter.....

While discussing the Dallas Cowboys, Coach B predicts that Bob Stoops will one day coach. This led to Josh (on his third beer) yammering ,'Why would he want to take a step down like that? Hell, he can run for Mayor in Norman and be elected on a write-in candidacy!' More laughter and chuckles.

The subject of Texas Tech losing to Oklahoma State. '646 yards and we still lost? That's Offensive!' Witty and funny.

Talking about the Aggies losing to Miami on Thursday, I posed the question of whether or not Aggies had money problems. No one as yet can explain to me why the helmets say 'ATM'...More laughs! Yes!

It was good to be amongst my fellow season ticket holder friends. This Wednesday we say goodbye for six months and await another off season of arguments, agreements, advice, and endless banter in the name of baseball. It was a fun season Coach. Let the Harangutang know that too!

Hockey season takes my attention span starting Thursday, and not a day too soon. As Josh (on his fifth beer) said, 'You mean that sport where white guys with white sticks chase a black object and shoot it to death?' Not politically correct but very funny... and yes Josh, THAT sport is correct :) Correct indeed. By the way, Josh is single.
