    Daganomics and Schedules.

The National Hockey League released its schedule for 2006-2007 earlier in the day. Locally, Stars fans want to erase the bad taste the last playoff game left in their mouths. Who better than to face the Colorado Avalanche on October 4th in Denver?

Granted it will be a new look Avalanche team (Tanguay and Blake have gone elsewhere) appearing to be in decline with cap issues, but for Dallas fans it will also mean the return of Darryl Sydor and some new faces. It's no secret that baseball and hockey get my full attention for viewing and watching. It's also a perfect way to keep oneself busy year-round. In the heat and near the ice!

The Stars home opener will occur on October 7th, a Saturday. It should be no surprise to the attendees of that night's game against the NJ Devils that they will notice alot of Maroon and Burnt Orange. Seems that will be the day when the Longhorns and Sooners renew their yearly rivalry at The Cotton Bowl. Also the start of baseball's playoffs, and of course smack dab in the middle of the Texas State Fair. October is a fun time in North Texas, to be sure. Best reason of all: It will FINALLY start to cool off! I say this as we surpass 100 for an umpteenth time today. Of the Stars schedule, 22 of their 41 home games will be on the weekend. The All-Star game shall be here 1/24/07...

Four homers in two games...Any Questions, America? Talk all you want about what Albert Pujols, Jim Thome, Manny, and Papi are doing because, as evidenced earlier tonight, Mark Teixeira will be threatening to be amongst the league leaders when all is said and done!!! Same swing, same routine, same work ethic, different result in the second half. With Tex having a three homer 7 RBI night, the Texas Rangers begin the second half with 20 of 26 on the road poised to attack in a dead-heat for first place!

You might recall that in August 2005 the Rangers had their longest road trip of the year and went 1-12. Having already matched that tonight, I hereby go on record to say that there will not be a July collapse this year. Heck, a .500 road trip will suffice! Two question marks remain the play of Adam Eaton upon his return on July 25th, and Kevin Millwood's health as the ace. Vicente Padilla is solidifying his case as a strong #2! When Kam Loe returns, I'll be happy to keep him in the pen for middle relief. When the trade deadline nears, I welcome someone the caliber of a Freddy Garcia or John Smoltz...

Those of you who are a Starbucker before starting your day, there's one locale in Irving where MacArthur and the 114 freeway meet. Should you go there, look for a young man named Dagan. In ten years of ingesting latte love, this barista is THE FASTEST I have ever encountered!!! I can be 2 minutes away from work in a line 14 deep, and he'll have me ready to go in ninety seconds! That helps when I have 25 seconds to drive to get to work in that same shopping center...Thanks Dagan! Be sure to tell them Mr Will sent you!

Time for a swim. HOT! HOT! HOT! 103 as I type...

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D

    Mr Will
