    No Plank Required!

Tuesday night in Highland Park was a continuation of District 11-4A play as the Lady Scots(13-10) would have their hands full with the #2 defense of the Wylie Lady Pirates(17-4). Curiously, I noticed during shootaround a t-shirt the Lady Pirates were wearing that said,"Keep it under 40". A reference to what they want to keep the opponent's total at...

Cassie Powell would score the first 13 Lady Pirate points as they would build a lead that ebbed and flowed between 13 and 20 points after a sluggish first half. Jackie Stanley(#8 in rebounds)added 14 and Jenny Black(#2 in assists)showed amazing poise for a sophomore in a 59-46 Wylie win.

Lucy Lawson continued to be a defensive force in defeat as she would create 5 steals in defeat whilst Maggie Deichert would lead all Scot scorers with 14 points followed closely by Allison Keller with 13. Intensity is one key word that will remain the mantra of Coach Nowakowski. To the Lady Scots credit they were able to nay say what the t-shirts said in scoring 46 points.

SPECIAL thanks to Mr Blake Taylor for all the game day info, likewise to Miss Betsy Lawson for her assistance as statistician, and to Mr and Mrs Bill Wilshusen(from volleyball last fall)for stopping by to say,"Hi". Zach Warner and myself truly are appreciative.

Highland Park now goes on the road Friday for another barnburner against a Pirate squad of a different sort you might know as Mesquite Poteet. 7:30 is the jump time.

Over and out in Big D
