    28 Years To The Day!

    This was my mindset in 1982. Today in 2010, I try to imagine a living John Belushi at age 61 still doing cartwheels and keeping the spirit of Jake and Elwood alive. he loved his whiskey and he liked his cocaine. It was a more liberal time unlike today.

    Oh (to be) King!

    I was in my vehicle today heading in to work when I turned on the radio and heard...exhibition baseball with the Rangers and Royals (speaking of Kings). Yes the games don't count but the fact we are speaking diamond love, the season is fast approaching. April 4th it all starts with the Yankees at Fenway.

    A Return to Sporty Normalcy...I think.

    Speaking only for myself, it used to be that once football season and the Super Bowl were over and done you had a 6-8 cooling off period before you got all worked up for a new season like baseball. When June arrived you knew that basketball and hockey were completing their seasonal tenure. Come October, and the Fall Classic would roll on by and for a 2 week stretch you enjoyed watching the national pastime before wishing it goodbye until next April as the indoor sports got started again.

    The Ides Have It! The Numbers Too!

    March is a month that fans of college basketball and weekend warriors really start to hone in on their homework. Television viewing increases, and somewhere around the 13th of the month there are the conference title games for each division. Then a little piece of paper that contains 'brackets' gets treated with more respect than all the gold in Ft. Knox. That is, until the second day of the tournament. Yes, I am alluding to March Madness.
