    LP 33...Divine Intervention...

    Fresh off a 1976 visit to the World Series, the Yankees got heavy into free agency, acquiring Reggie Jackson and Don Gullett for added power and strength. Truly the dawn of what happens when you mix talent from other teams who don't grow up together in the minors. One final piece to the puzzle was a trade for Bucky Dent days before the start of the 1977 season.

    Around The Dial...

    When MTV first came on the scene (sis can attest to this), I would sit before that television for hours on end and actually track the music that was playing. I quickly discovered how certain songs would play up to five times within a 12 hour period AKA 'heavy rotation'. Getting accustomed to all the crazy videos to match the music was actually pretty interesting.

    The Fire Still Burns...

    Some places you enter will truly speak to you. You will sense the energy, the history, and the message of the amount of blood, sweat, and tears people have shed under the bright lights of the ceiling. I felt immediately comfortable and at home. The energy was incredible.

    This Cup Shall Runneth On.

    This is like Cinderella in reverse. You earned the right to attend the Ball. You worked hard to lobby for an appearance and a presence. Because of some oversight in the paperwork department, now you are denied entry to the only event you ever wanted to see happen before your eyes as the clock slowly ticks your twilight. It just doesn't seem fair.

    Enjoying the Destination.

    It's no secret that many people, myself included, would get fits of antsy whenever we watched #36 come out of the bullpen in a relief role. The numbers indicate that his save percentage was one of the best in all of baseball in 2009. Somehow it just seems he would always have an occasional blown save moment that we otherwise choose to remember.
