    That Ever Familiar Smell...

    Two days removed from the NBA All-Star Game it was assumed that maybe the Mavericks caught Miami at a good time. Wade was a little banged up, Udonis Haslem seemed to be a little off initially, Chris Bosh took all of the first half to get going. Even the Birdman was kept at bay for a good part of the first half.

    28 Days Til Paradise!

    There are 28 games left in the regular season here in Dallas. It begins with the 2006 and 2011 arch nemesis Miami Heat. Here's hoping Team Carlisle can begin the second half as they did in Indiana. With focus, conviction, a slight swagger, and with the leader of the pack, Dirk Nowitzki, able to carry Dallas on his back to offset to the onset of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

    The Worst Kept Secret!

    This in a way shall be a homecoming of sorts for Nolan Ryan. Ten years ago when he came to Houston in a front office role the Astros would get to 1 game of a pennant before becoming the 1st Texas team to play in a World Series in 2005. In nine seasons as an Astros hurler from 1980-1988 Houston went to the playoffs three times and almost reached the World Series in 1980 and 1986.

    Most people between the ages of 40-50 can tell you exactly where they were when 'The Miracle' was going down in Lake Placid New York. A bunch of kids led by Coach Herb Brooks and Mike Eruzione and Jim Craig did the unbelievable in pulling off an unthinkable 4-3 upset of the Russians in Hockey? The voice of Al Michaels proclaiming, 'Do you believe in miracles? Yes!'
