    One In The Hand Is Worth...

    Being able to see cars and trucks navigate on tough stretches of roadway is one thing. To do so at speeds of over 140 MPH with cars all around is another sight to behold. Then the usual cacophony of fans who come to 'support Junior, root for Mark, see some fireworks erupt from Tony Stewart,' etc...

    Thank You Pat!

    A 1 time Giant, Cardinal, and Lion everyone remembers the first ever Overtime game 12/29/58. What you might not remember is that the game would not have happened if Pat Summerall misses a game winning field goal in a driving snowstorm to defeat the Cleveland Browns two weeks prior. Similar to Adam Vinatieri doing the same in the 'Tuck Bowl' game back in 2001.

    George John returned to play after suffering a concussion last week north of the border, ready to help bolster a defensive line that featured players like Matt Hedges and Zac Loyd. Raul Fernandez was your starting goalie. FCDallas at home a perfect 3-0 with a couple of shutouts.

    To Lose With Pitching!

    Back to pitching, overall the Houston Astros are ranked 19th with a team ERA of 4.26 after 12 games. If you merely go by the efforts of the Houston starting 5, the ERA goes down to 3.26. 11 times the starting pitching had held the opponent to three runs or less. A stat that not gone unnoticed by skipper Bo Porter.

    To Honor A Legacy!

    Looking back, David Stern had many years of grooming to prepare himself for that February date in 1984. It began as acting outside legal counsel under Proskauer Rose in 1966. Under Larry O'Brien's watch he would become General Counsel in 1978. Promoted to Executive Vice President of the NBA in 1980.
