When you deal with adversity and a desired result is finally attained chances are that the yield on the effort shall happen in droves. Sometimes a veritable floodgate if you will.

After seemingly a whole season struggling to get a goal in a game the Fort Worth Vaqueros FC would wait until the final day of spring to get one of many goals in an 11-2 victory over the BCS Clash FC of College Station.

Their first win in their inaugural season with the NPSL (in South Central Conference play) at LaGrave Field as they improve their record to 1-4-1.With the win and three points they keep their playoff hopes alive.

Another challenge awaits them Sunday June 22nd with the San Antonio Corinthians FC.

The scoring came hot and heavy in the first 45 minutes with goals in the 19th and 20th minutes.

Fort Worth then added goals in the 30th and 35th minute. Again in the 41st and 45th minute for a 6-0 halftime lead en route to an 11-2 romp over the Clash who (sadly) have been outscored by an 80-4 count this season.

Mark Snell was happy with the win but was already looking ahead to Sunday night. On the heels of a national audience getting their USA soccer fix with a match against Portugal.

“It feels good, but there’s no time to rest. We’ve got to go right into Sunday,” Snell said. “The stage is set. We need to get a win and three points on Sunday. Initially my plan was to have the guys come out aggressive and play our brand of soccer within the 1st 15 minutes of action. Even with the lead I wasn't happy at halftime with some of the mistakes we were making. I'm a perfectionist so I said what needed to be said.”

Friday night was equally sweet with the dual hat trick performances of Dalibor Golubovic and Austin Stewart (Three goals each).

“Tonight gave us a great boost of confidence overall because we’ve obviously been playing every game really close, but we just don’t get that win,” Golubovic said.

Goalie Arturo Sanchez was gracious enough to stop by for a video visit.

Sunday nights match with the Corinthians will commence at 7:30 pm (Headed by coach Jon Burklo) at LaGrave Field. Both Tyler Humphries and Captain Joshua Hernandez will be back and ready to play.

Congratulations to the Vaqueros on their first win of their inaugural season. May that double up on Sunday night. Just like USA #IBelieveThatTheyWillWin!

Over and out in Big D.
