Will Martin in Rangers, Texas Stadium, Yankees

Three years in the making and I was there when it first began backin January 2006. Tonight the new Cowboy Stadium will be open for business as a country show shall kick things off. George Strait and Miss Reba will be entertaining a throng of people. There will be glitches and there will be issues. A barometer for what Cowboys fans can look forward to on September 20th. I will be out of the area, thankfully.

Every year since becoming a Rangers season ticket holder, one perk to being an avid fan is being able to attend the Bombardier 500 LearJet Indy Car race. Every year prior to today it seemed the Rangers would play a home game on the same day, thus I never went to watch the cars race.

This night I had free to go watch my first race ever. Of course I was reminded that there was a church service I was to attend that would be to my benefit. That made better sense of course. Especially since now being made aware that Ed Young and I share a birthday, albeit three years apart. Services went well, thank you!

It was 65 years ago this day that many young men, most younger than 21, were involved in an elaborate plan to storm the beaches of Normandie in the name of freedom and all that that entails. Referred to as V-E Day, I wish to give thanks to the relatives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, or served to return fromt hat mission. THANK YOU!

This was a night to forget at Fenway. Jon Lester retired the first 19 batters he faced settling on a 2-hitter while the Red Sox rolled 8-1. A balk in the 5th called on Derek Holland allowed for a floodgate of scoring to happen. Mike Lowell and David Ortiz both went deep for Boston while Michael Young had both hits for the Rangers.

Rubber game tomorrow with Vicente Padilla back from the waiver wire. I hope he keeps his team ahead of him. A win tomorrow will allow for a 3-3 road trip. Keeping the faith. 3 famous birthdays to yak about tomorrow!

Time for a walk!
