Happy Monday!Happy Birthday Warren Beatty and Melanie Hennings!

Less than a week before we welcome baseball and Opening Day...

Honest to God, on any given Sunday, if there is a golf tourney going on, and Tiger Woods is in it, matters not what I am doing, I will stop everything and watch the whole event as Tiger goes. How many times do I need to provide an example of last minute heroics? The Masters in 1997, the breakaway win at the U.S. Open in 2000, the sudden death with Retief Goosen in 2001, the killer chip shot at Augusta in 2005 as we sae that darned Nike logo roll and roll...into the hole! Yesterday, Woods was five strokes behind Sean O'Hair when play began.

The television ratings back me up. When Tiger is in the hunt, we in America watch in droves. Watching Tiger Woods is like watching a motivational speaker perform through and action and not words. We almost expect Tiger to outdo himself. When you consider that in over 240 tournaments entered, Tiger has won 60 times! That is almost 29%! Unreal!

I began to watch. Woods in his Sunday red. Around the 13th hole, I saw the fire in his eyes. The putting was on. Some of the second shots nearing the green put a smile on my face. It has happened so many times where the leader hears and notices the roar of that ornery animal when he swings back into the fray of competition. This day was no different. On hole #16 there was the chip shot out of the bunker that gave Tiger a birdie attempt.

Of course to win the match on the final hole on the final shot on a sixteen foot putt was pure Broadway! Congratulations to Tiger Woods for his firsy win since a sudden death shootout with Rocco Mediate pre knee surgery. Tiger is back! A nice win and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. O'Hair did not lose the tourney. Tiger won it!

Remember where you were this day in 1981 at about 12:30 pm CST when ABC, CBS, and NBC stopped all soap programming and went to live coverage of an assassination attempt? Ronald Reagan escaped harms way for the most part. The same could not be said for James Brady. This in the heels of what Mark Chapman did to John Lennon, this was a little hard to take. I still remember how emotional Frank Reynolds got on the air when made aware that Reagan was hit below the heart. Ted Koppell and Max Robinson would follow with their coverage into the night.

I can't believe the Spartans of Michigan State pulled off the upset on Louisville! Tom Izzo's boys came to play! They reach the Final Four. Wondering if Rick Pitino can return to Kentucky now that Billy Gillespie is gone? Much speculation about where John Calipari might end up? Stay tuned.

The Stars are done, that much is a given. Now the number of player/games lost to injury is 324, when Marty Turco gets burned for three goals in a 2 minute span, you deserve to lose. This was the case on Saturday when the Florida Panthers put the whoop-ass on the Stars 6-3. Thankfully two more home games and the regular season is over until 2009-2010. Now thinking about the money saved for next season. Here's hoping the guys are a helathier bunch next year. Stephan Robidas and Trevor Daley also fell to injury this week. Ouch!

Brandon McCarthy keeps impressing the Rangers brass in Arizona. Kris Benson making a case for a possible middle relief role. Josh Hamilton has been hitting everything in his sight. I hope the Rangers fly uinder the radar and they catch every break imaginable. One more week and we're at home with the Indians.Cliff Lee and Kevin Millwood will be your Opening Day starters. It was announced that George W. Bush will be tossing out the first pitch. That works for me!

Hmm, a 28 point defeat in Ohio and Jason Kidd wants to talk about being a free agent with LeBron in 2010? Makes me wonder where Jason's priorities lie. Can you insure that your team gets that #8 seed for sure? If I hear anyone else talk abut getting a possible 7, 6, or 5 spot, I will slap them for wishful thinking! Maverick fans must understand that without Josh Howard, Dirk and Jet's hands are tied. The team remains one dimensional with no schemes to throw off the competition. Lakers-Mavericks in Round 1 and then Dallas be done! Any questions?

Famous birthdays tomorrow. One here locally.

Time for a walk!

Over and out in Big D
