Turks On Ice On The Border!

Happy Friday my friend! The holiday season is in full swing. After watching some hockey in Frisco, I checked out three locales under a raging moon and you can sense the spirit, or was that stress? No matter, I am here to tell you that if you like blues and ambience, make a trip over to the Main Street Blues Room in Grapevine. Again I wish to thank Jennifer Grey for last night's cocktail party. It's always a thrill to be amongst the movers and shakers of the Metroplex. Speaking of which...

I saw it and I still don't believe it! The Dallas Stars go into Ottawa and shut out the number one team in the NHL? Marty Turco with 24 stops? Dallas is undefeated when they play the second half of a back to back, is it too early to say that North Texas has a viable Stanley Cup posibility? Might we have seen a preview of what's to come? Stay tuned. Stars all alone in first place at 20-8-1 and four better than the Kings.

Now that four Vikes have been charged for their part in the boat scandal, I hear the so-called 'pundits' yak about bringing Daunte Culpepper to Dallas for two first round picks. Are you kidding me? No way! Take that NAACP: Daunte, not Donovan is the man you should have been calling underrated all these years! When all is said and done, I expect a reunion in the desert with Dennis Green in 2006.

Can you say Red Sox West? Derek Lowe, Bill Mueller, Grady Little, and possibly Johnny Damon headed to Los Angeles. I'll even include Nomar Garciaparra in that mix. The Dodgers have to be an early favorite based on these acquisitions.

Be sure to enjoy the attempts of Southlake Carroll to complete another 15-0 season tomorrow at 12 noon when they meet the team that last defeated them, Katy, at Texas Stadium. Forecasters says rain and cold.

I hope I am wrong but I have a really bad feeling about Dallas being Clintonized and Brunellified by air and by ground. You could call it 'Operation Hog Tied'. Will Roy Williams remember his lessons from 9/19th when dealing with Santana Moss? I predict for the 11th time in 14 games this one goes to the wire-hell, make it overtime. Washington 23-17 is my call...

Have a great weekend! To all you last second shoppers, be nice when parking.

Over and out in Big D
