Trying to regain a sense of my bearings whilst checking in this holiday weekend. Texas gets busy on the sports schedule as Santa begins his inventory. Not the kind of trifecta North Texans like to talk about, however in the last 72 hours...

1.Billy Cundiff-WHAT HAPPENED? Wide left on a 34 yarder. Yes you apologized, but darn what a way to lose! This is what I get for playing prediction guy. I spoke with Bob Petitti after the game and I told him he had nothing to be ashamed of. Denver is that good! Growing up a fan of UFO, I now officially change Cundiff's name to Michael Shanker. Frustrating!

2.On a night when Sean Salisbury is in attendance at the AAC, Coyote goalie Curtis Joseph, Cujo, stops 32 of 33 stops, denying the Stars on 11 of 12 power plays. Phoenix succeeds at scoring in two instances of 5 on 3. Big night for Shane Doan with a goal and two helpers...The loss snapped Dallas' five game win streak.! As a lifelong Viking fan it was great to shake the hand of and speak with a former Viking leader. Class act that Mr. Salisbury. Seen regularly on 'NFL LIVE'.

3.Doug Christie gets waived due to impending retirement, the Mavs come off a solid win at Miami only to lose convincingly at home to the Grizzlies 112-92. Big nights for Damon Stoudamire and Pao Gasol as they combine for 58 points. Memphis snaps the Mavs seven game win streak.

4.Any chance that Vince Young had for a Heisman went out the Aggie chute yesterday as the Horns looked a little tepid in their 40-29 victory at College Station. Reggie Bush will win hands down! I feel sorry for Colorado next week. That will be an absolute mercy killing. I expect Texas to score 70 this Saturday and silence the critics.

5. Did I really believe that the Rangers could pull off a trade with the Marlins? Not really. Do I hold out hope that some talent will come South voluntarily? Yes! Optimist that I am I will continue to pray that a man named Kevin Millwood shall come south to aid Kameron Loe, Chris Young, and Edison Volquez. I can't believe John Hart is being retained through 2013.

Some incredibly cool deals at the Galleria this weekend! Be sure to check her out when in Addison.

Special thanks to Barbara, Tim, Sara, Araj, Ida, Shay, Kamron, and Mary Anne for the holiday hospitality!

Make it a great weekend...

Over and out in Big D.
