Friday night marked the Master's return to the Douglas Field House for Varsity Lady Scots Basketball. Based on my conversation with Blake Taylor, the consensus is that the players, parents and fans are VERY happy with the direction that Coach Jeff Nowakowski leads them.

District play kicked off at home against a 21-4 Lady Jackrabbit squad from Forney. With one starter injured and another gone for personal reasons, it remains to be seen how far the 13-9 Lady Scots can take their talent.

Ashley May would lead the way with 20 points for Highland Park and Katie Hooper(12 pts) provided ample leadership under the boards. Lucy Lawson(6 pts) showed a tenacity on the transition that one can't help but like. Allison Keller and Maggie Deichert(8 pts) also contributed but the team came up a little short.

Forney had a twin sister act named Sam and Katie Hanie who would combine for over half of Forney's points in a 52-47 win.

The Lady Scots schedule won't get easier as Wylie shall be next this Tuesday night at 7:30. The Master and Illusion Sports shall be there as well!

Over and out in Big D
