When the 2004-2005 SBC hockey season began last October for the Highland Park Scots the player who was leading the way was Bryan Lawrence. In a 4 week stretch he would get 8 goals, 6 via the power play. Over the last month he has been quiet but contributing in other ways as Austin Pitzer and Locke Jillson took over in the scoring department.

Thursday night in Euless one of the best games played all season would be against the steadily improving Southlake Carroll Dragons. You may recognize them as the school featured on ESPN and Fox going 15-0 in football. Many of them were in attendance.

This would also mark the third time both teams met. The last two meetings in favor of the Scots. Each time Highland Park struck with a fervor in the power play by 4-1 and 4-0 scores.

Thursday's match was a classic for defense lovers. A scoreless affair until six minutes left in the third stanza courtesy of St. Lawrence(assist Michael Raggio-his 9th)gave Highland Park a hard fought 1-0 victory before a hostile Dragon crowd.

Addison Seifert made 19 stops subbing for Jack Boeing at goal and the Scots played error free hockey. A case could be made for Addison Seifert starting at goal.

Although the game would end with two ejections (one Dragon actually dared to shove a ref-I've never seen that before!)for Southlake and needless provocation, the Scots proved their mettle is worthy.

Highland Park improves to 10-3-1 while the Dragons fall to 3-9-2. Keller is next on the Scot schedule. Expect another snotbuster!

Over and out in Big D
